From a group on LinkedIn addressing special education and the law stating "the law" (far from it), to an article from mainstream, respected media (CBS News) reporting that impersonating a service dog is a federal crime (wrong), to a local post office that *just* posted this sign, I have come to the conclusion that confusion trumps clarity on this issue of the Americans with Disabilities Act and service animals. It is worth considering that regulations requiring certification (no fee to register, perhaps paid for by a DOJ fund funded by fees collected through litigation) would eliminate most issues and strengthen perception and enforcement.
